ACCS Nominations

Dear ACCS members, 

Hope this semester is treating you well! 

The Ad Hoc Nomination Committee is seeking nominations or self-nominations for the three open positions in ACCS: The Vice-President (2018-2020), Secretary/Treasurer (2018-2020), and the Newsletter Editor (2018-2020). The duties of each position are listed as follows:

“The ACCS Vice-President will serve a two-year term, then, succeed to the office of President. This officer shall, in cooperation with the officers and appropriate committees, plan the Association activities, and shall discharge responsibilities normally adhering to the office” (ACCS bylaws, article III). 

“The ACCS Secretary/Treasurer shall serve two years, prepare minutes of the business meetings, be responsible for the financial management and membership records, other internal communications among the members, and other duties customary for the office” (ACCS bylaws, article III). 

“The ACCS Newsletter Editor shall serve for two years, be responsible for the Association's Newsletter, and other duties customary for the office” (ACCS bylaws, article III). 

Please email your nomination (or self-nomination) to accselection2014@yahoo.com. Both nominating and voting require the active ACCS membership. If you want to become an active member, please contact our secretary Ping Yang atping.yang@millersville..edu to renew membership or join the ACCS. 

The last day to nominate yourself or someone else is March 5, 2018.
Each candidate will prepare a brief candidate statement and email it to the Nomination Committee ataccselection2014@yahoo.com.

The Faculty Development Grant Program gives college and university media educators the opportunity to gain firsthand experience in a professional media environment. The Program allows teaching faculty to spend up to four weeks of the summer “interning” with a TV station, cable system, broadcast or cable network or program distributor. The goals are to increase teaching effectiveness through first-hand experience and to nurture relationships between educators and the industry.
Development Grant recipients receive a fellowship to attend NATPE 2019 in Miami Beach and $500 per week during their grant placement.
