GENERAL INFORMATIONThe purpose of the Association for Chinese Communication Studies (ACCS) is to promote research and teaching that highlights communicative behavior pertaining to Chinese culture. Members are concerned with understanding Chinese communication, exploring how Chinese communication is similar to and different from communication practices in other cultures, building theoretical paradigms of Chinese communication, and embracing similarities and bridging differences of communication between Chinese and people around the globe.
The ACCS invites submissions of Individual Papers, Paper Sessions, and Panel Discussions that investigate topics pertaining to Chinese culture and communication studies for the NCA 104th Annual Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah. Specifically, the association seeks submissions that portray, research, or enhance the convention theme “Communication at Play” from Chinese communication perspectives. Submissions are invited in, but not limited to, the theoretical, empirical, and practical research that is related to Chinese communication in the following areas: intercultural communication, cross-cultural communication, cultural adaptation and health-related consequences, intercultural communication competence, globalization/localization, identity development and dynamism/intersectionality, media flows, issues of representation, new media across/within Chinese communities, and activism. Submissions that cut across disciplines and utilize various methodologies and theoretical perspectives are also encouraged. Submissions should demonstrate their connection and contribution to Chinese communication studies.
SUBMISSION INFORMATIONThe ACCS will accept the following submission types: Individual Papers, Paper Sessions, and Panel Discussions. In order to avoid unnecessary problems with submission and review, please carefully read the following guidelines:
1. All submissions must be made electronically via NCA Convention Central. Emailed or mailed submissions will not be accepted. For instructions on completing a submission, please refer to the step-by-step “How to Submit” Instructions provided in the Convention Resource Library (http://www.natcom.org/conventionresources). All submitters are encouraged to review the Professional Standards for Convention Participants prior to submission.
2. Each submission should be made to one unit only.
INDIVIDUAL PAPER REQUIREMENTS
Submitted papers should include:
1. A title2. All author(s) for the paper. Please identify student-authored submissions on the electronic submission form (All authors must be students).
3. A 120-180-word description of the paper. 
4. A maximum of 25 pages of text (not including references, appendices, or footnotes) uploaded as a supporting file. Uploaded files MUSTNOT include information identifying the author(s) on the cover page or in the body of your abstract or your paper. Instructions on how to prepare a blind copy are provided in the Convention Resource Library.
As ACCS session space is limited, all individual paper submitters are encouraged to choose the option that states willingness to participate in the scholar to scholar series. This will increase the likelihood of your paper’s acceptance.
PAPER SESSION REQUIREMENTSSubmitted paper sessions should include:
1. A title for the session
2. A session chair 3. An overall session description (250 words maximum)
4. Titles, author(s), and descriptions (150 words maximum) for each paper 
5. An overall session rationale (250 words maximum)
6. A recommended respondent
PANEL DISCUSSION REQUIREMENTSSubmissions for a panel discussion should include:
1. A title for the panel
2. A session chair 3. A panel description (250 words maximum) for the online convention program
4. A list of presenters5. A panel rationale (500 words maximum) for acceptance adequately justifying the significance and theme of the panel as a whole

RIT’s School of Communication is particularly interested in persons with interests connecting communication and issues of race, diversity and inclusion in the public sphere. We offer BS degrees in Advertising & Public Relations, Communication, and Journalism; an MS in Communication & Media Technologies; and an online Advanced Graduate Certificate in Communication & Digital Media.  There are 24 full-time faculty.
Successful candidates will have research and teaching strengths in some the following areas: intercultural, interpersonal, and the intersection of communication and the digital space. The ability to teach other courses in all four of our degree programs is desirable. The school is interested in some who utilizes humanistic and/or multiple methodologies to examine communication.
